“I’m pleased to announce we are bringing Bing to ChatGPT as the default search experience,” Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s head of consumer marketing, said in a blogpost on Tuesday. The announcement was made at Microsoft’s Build 2023 developer conference on Tuesday, coming as the American technology giant continues to strengthen ties with OpenAI.

In the future, Bing search will be incorporated into ChatGPT, according to Microsoft, creating a “world-class search engine built-in to provide timelier and more up-to-date answers with access from the web.”
Users of ChatGPT Plus will begin receiving the new search capability today, and all free ChatGPT users will soon have access to it thanks to a plug-in in ChatGPT.

According to Microsoft, developers will be able to create plugins for its Copilot chatbot, which is coming to Microsoft 365 programmes including Word and Excel, ChatGPT, and Bing.
